Volunteer

The SCC relies on volunteers to help accomplish the mission of uniting Savannah’s children through the power of song.

Volunteer tutors offer help to SCC members who request it.  Our most frequently requested tutors are those specializing in math or languages.
Volunteer commitment required:  about 5 hours per semester, after school or on weekends, used only when a child requests help.

We’re a choir – we use LOTS of music.  Our extensive music library relies on volunteers to help pull music for the upcoming semester, and file away last semester’s music.
Volunteer commitment required:  Three sessions:  about 4 hours at the beginning of the choir season, 3 hours in December/January, and 4 hours at the end of the choir season.  Volunteer for one session or all three!

Help at a concert!  We need extra hands backstage, ushering, taking tickets, or sometimes at our concession stand.
Volunteer commitment required:  1-2 hours per event.

Help in the office!  We need volunteers that can help build or update databases in Excel, file, or do bulk mailings.
Volunteer commitment required:  1-3 hours depending on job.

Do you like to travel?  The SCC needs chaperones for its various trips.  Chaperones are expected to pay their own way, but we offer a modest stipend towards travel costs for chaperones selected to participate.
Volunteer commitment required:  1-3 hours before the trip plus time traveled during trip.
